How the numbers are worked out

Each answer is scored 1 to 5 and weighted. 70 and above: go, and test with paying customers. 50 to 69: test first. Under 50: rethink the customer, the offer or the model.

Questions

How is the score worked out?

Each answer counts from 1 to 5. Demand and knowing your first customers weigh most (×1.5), profit per sale next (×1.25), time to first sale least (×0.75). The total is turned into a score out of 100.

My idea scored low. Should I drop it?

Not necessarily. Look at the weak points: often a different customer, a smaller first version or a pre-sale fixes them. Change the answers and see what moves the score.

What’s the best way to test an idea?

Sell it before you build it: a deposit, a pre-order, or one paid job. Money from a stranger is the only proof that counts.

Is my data sent anywhere?

No. Everything is calculated in your browser. Nothing is stored or sent unless you use the form at the bottom of the page.
